Homework and Reading

Reading:
Students are required to read 20 minutes or 20 pages every school day (whichever comes first).
That means students should be reading approximately 100 minutes or 100 pages per week. The overall reading requirement for 7th graders is 400-600 pages per term. For 8th graders it is 600-800 pages per term.
Even though this may sound like a lot, it works out to be 10-20 pages per day, 5 days a week, and is definitely do-able.
Their reading will be tracked with weekly reading reports due on the last school day of each week and it will count for approximately 20% of their final grade. It is unlikely that a student will pass if they do not participate in their reading homework.
Other homework assignments may be given in addition to their nightly reading assignment. These include vocabulary drill and practice, writing assignments, projects, presentations, and study assignments. These assignments will be posted on the blog as needed.

Tareas y Lectura
