  2. 1. They think he is nice and responsible.
    2. He is a leader to them all and he was flints first mate while he was still alive
    3. Got them a crew. Cooked for them. And get the crew to not kill everybody like when they got to the island.
    4. In a seance yes but he has done some good things for a bad purpose like he got them a crew and he let Jim go when he had a chance to kill him.
    5. Yes it is possible to be good and bad at the same time, by helping one party out for a selfish interest and the same for the other party as long as he gets what he wants.
    6. Yes I think he is very dangerous because he has a very bad temper and strong as well as agile even though he only has one leg.
    7. Yes because he has been nice to both the crews and be is growing to like Jim or so it seems.
    8. I think that he will be defeated but e won't die because he will escape and never be heard from again.

  3. 1. Why don't Livesay, Trelawney, Smollet, or Jim suspect Silver of being a pirate at first?
Because he seems like a good guy. He is very kind and doesn't act like any other pirates they know.

    2. How is Silver different from the other known pirates?
He is sometimes good and sometimes bad. Most other pirates are bad all of the time, he acts really nice in most of the book.

    3. List 3 good things that Silver does for Jim or any of the other "good guys."
    1. He cooks for them on the ship. 2. He helps them find their way to the island( but that was for himself) 3. Helped them find a crew ( also for himself, because he got a bad crew that would listen to him)

    4. Do you think Silver is actually a bad guy? Give evidence?
I think he is mostly bad, but has some good in him. He is bad because he kills anyone who annoys him or doesn't do what he says. He is also good because he helped them find their way and was really nice in the beginning.

    5. Is it possible to be good and bad at the same time? Explain your answer.
Yes. You could be good and nice sometimes and bad at other times. It's can obviously happen because that is how silver is.

    6. Do you think Silver is dangerous? Why?
Yes. He kills many people and is great at deceiving people. He fooled them for most of the trip to Treasure Island that he was good, and they didn't suspect he was bad at all.

    7. Is there any evidence to suggest that Silver might switch sides later on in the book? Explain your answer?
He was trying to get them to like him throughout the first half of the book. He never even meant for them to hear his evil plan, so he might switch back to their side later in the book, but for his own good.

    8. What do you think will ultimately happen to Silver in the end?
He will end up switching back to the good person side, so he can get some of the money to himself.

  4. 1. Why don't Livesay, Trelawney, Smollet, or Jim suspect Silver of being a pirate at first? Because he acts like an innocent little friendly innkeeper, eager to help them on the adventure.

    2. How is Silver different from the other known pirates? He was in Flints original famous pirate crew.

    3. List 3 good things that Silver does for Jim or any of the other "good guys." He gives them a nice meal at the inn, Gives them plenty of information about the island, and gives Jim a weapon.

    4. Do you think Silver is actually a bad guy? Give evidence? He killed Tom, had someone else kill Alan, and brought a whole crew with plans to mutiny. I think he is.

    5. Is it possible to be good and bad at the same time? Explain your answer. Yes, because, Silver had all these plans of evil, but the whole time, he was respectful and followed all the orders.

    6. Do you think Silver is dangerous? Why? I do because he manage to throw his crutch with perfect accuracy and hit Tom right on the spine.

    7. Is there any evidence to suggest that Silver might switch sides later on in the book? Explain your answer? If there ism I haven't seen any. He seems like a real jerk to me.

    8. What do you think will ultimately happen to Silver in the end? He will probably get killed or marooned.

  5. 1. Why don't Livesay, Trelawney, Smollet, or Jim suspect Silver of being a pirate at first? They don't suspect Silver to be a pirate because he does a great job at hiding the fact that he is one.

    2. How is Silver different from the other known pirates? He doesn't really act like a pirate and he is smarter than most of them.

    3. List 3 good things that Silver does for Jim or any of the other "good guys." 1. He helped to find a crew. 2. He is nice to Jim. 3. Gives advice.

    4. Do you think Silver is actually a bad guy? Give evidence? Yes I do because he killed someone and he helped to plan a way to take over the ship.

    5. Is it possible to be good and bad at the same time? Explain your answer. Yes it is because around some people you can act good but around others you can act bad.

    6. Do you think Silver is dangerous? Why? Yes I do think he is dangerous because you never know what he might do next and he is full of surprises.

    7. Is there any evidence to suggest that Silver might switch sides later on in the book? Explain your answer? I think Silver might switch sides because the reason why he went on the voyage in the first place was to get the treasure and since Jim knows where it is he might just switch so he can have part of the treasure.

    8. What do you think will ultimately happen to Silver in the end? I think Silver will die because he will somehow get both sides mad at him and they will probably just unite and hunt him down.

  6. 1. Because he is really nice at first
    2. He isn't really the captain, he is the cook now and the quartermaster before, but he still sort of controls the crew
    3. He makes him breakfast, he tells him stories, he sings them songs
    4. Yes, he is planning to murder the main characters from what we know, and he has already knifed a guy who wanted to stop him
    5. Sort of. You can be under cover as a good guy, like Silver or the other way around.
    6. Yes. "The captain" was probably terrified of him for a reason
    7. No. It would be an interesting story if he did, but so far I don't think that there is.
    8. It is possible that he will die in the en d just because he is not really the main character and It would make sense.

  7. 1. Because John is really nice
    2. He's nice to everyone
    3. He compliments Jim, he cooks them good food, and he is always willing to help
    4. Yes, because he killed some of the honest crew members, and whenever he compliments someone it is to gain there trust.
    5. No, unless you're a double agent. Then you pretend to be good to cover up your pretend badness to make everyone think your not good when you actually are.
    6. Yes and no. He could end up to actually be a good guy pretending to be a bad guy pretending to be a good guy, and in the case, he would be a valuable asset to the honest crew. But if he is actually a bad guy, he has the social power to do almost anything.
    7. He might. His actions towards the captain show that he might just be a double agent. But so far, it doesn't some like he has any inclination of switching sides again.
    8. I think he will be marooned on the island as a traitor after the treasure is lifted.

  8. 1. Why don't Livesay, Trelawney, Smollet, or Jim suspect Silver of being a pirate at first?
No one excepts him to be a pirate because he is happy, nice, and likes to talk to people. He doesn't act like a "typical" pirate.
    2. How is Silver different from the other known pirates?
Silver is different because he is nice, happy, and he likes to talk to people or make friends. Pirates are usually thought if as mean, grumpy, and not sociable.
    3. List 3 good things that Silver does for Jim or any of the other "good guys."
    1. He gave Jim a gun in case he meets someone bad, or gets in a bad situation.
    2. He helps find a crew for the Hispaniola.
    3. He agrees to go on the trip and cook food for everyone.

    4. Do you think Silver is actually a bad guy? Give evidence?
Yes, I do think Silver is actually a bad guy because he killed people for no good reason and he planned to take over the ship. I think that is who he really is and he was just pretending at the beginning.
    5. Is it possible to be good and bad at the same time? Explain your answer.
Yes, because you could have two sides. You can be good and nice to one person, but on the other hand rude and a jerk to another person.
    6. Do you think Silver is dangerous? Why?
Yes, because he makes a crew member fall overboard and he is planning to get rid of some other people so he can take the treasure.
    7. Is there any evidence to suggest that Silver might switch sides later on in the book? Explain your answer?
Yes, I think he might switch sides again because he only went on the voyage for one reason. Jim knows where the treasure is so he might act really nice to him, and maybe to others as well.

    8. What do you think will ultimately happen to Silver in the end?
I think that everyone on the ship will eventually figure out what he is trying to do, and they might come together to kill him or get him back.

  9. 1. I think it's because they were really anxious to get going and find that treasure, and that Silver was super nice, and cooked great food.

    2. I think Silver is different because he is pretty smart and plans out when and what they're going to do something, rather the pirates just wan to go and get rich

    3. Silver was a super nice, uplifting friend. Somebody Jim to be around. He always asked if they needed anything for him to do

    4. I do think Silver is a bad person. He wasn't being nice just to be nice, but to earn their trust, then go behind their backs.

    5. I don't think you can be a good person and a bad person at he same time. It's just like Silver is with Jim and his buddies. I do think you can change who you are. Like from being not a very good person to a pretty good person, or the other way around.

    6. I do think Silver is dangerous. He wants to kill everyone in his way of making money. But I also think if he takes a liking to somebody, that they will be okay. I think he wouldn't kill Jim if he had the chance

    7. I don't think he will change sides, because the Captain said if he captures Silver, that he would have him hung. And I think Silver isn't planning on being hanged

    8. I think that the Captain, squire, Doctor, and Jim (if they all make it) and Ben will leave him on the island with one bullet and a pistol.

    2. How is Silver different from the other known pirates? He doesn't act bad that much

    3. List 3 good things that Silver does for Jim or any of the other "good guys." He cooks on the ship, he organized the crew, he brought apples on board

    4. Do you think Silver is actually a bad guy? Give evidence? I think he is because I think he is only being nice so he can get the treasure.

    5. Is it possible to be good and bad at the same time? Explain your answer. Yes because there is always something good that comes out of something bad

    6. Do you think Silver is dangerous? Why? I think he is because he would do anything to get the treasure

    7. Is there any evidence to suggest that Silver might switch sides later on in the book? Explain your answer? He might because he is already half way on their side

    8. What do you think will ultimately happen to Silver in the end? I don't think he will get any of the treasure

  11. 1. Why don't Livesay, Trelawney, Smollet, or Jim suspect Silver of being a pirate at first? Because he acts like he's on their side but he wants to steal the ship and gold
    2. How is Silver different from the other known pirates? He has a left peg leg
    3. List 3 good things that Silver does for Jim or any of the other "good guys." He got the crew for the squire, gave Jim a gun, and got always followed orders almost with excitement. He got into Jim's trust circle until Jim heard his plan in the apple
    4. Do you think Silver is actually a bad guy? Give evidence? Because he Jim hears him in the apple barrel planning to backstab the captain, doctor, squire, him and etc.)
    5. Is it possible to be good and bad at the same time? Explain your answer. well, I believe you can be bad because your lost and then choose the good but I don't think you can be bad and good at same time and if you could it would be a hard battle with yourself.
    6. Do you think Silver is dangerous? Why? Yes because when to of the loyal men decided the would not join Silver and were loyal he killed them both no sign of remorse on him face.
    7. Is there any evidence to suggest that Silver might switch sides later on in the book? Explain your answer? No not really the only thing I can think of that would possibly change his mind is Jim.
    8. What do you think will ultimately happen to Silver in the end? Well, if he doesn't change, I believed that he will die and not get away with it.

  12. 1. I think that they don't suspect him of being a pirate because he seems so nice and unlike their deffentions of how a pirate should act and he seems kind of clueless about ships and the pirate life when they first meet him.

    2. He has a good first impression. He doesn't look like an ordinary pirate except for the wooden leg. He is also a cook. Most pirates don't act with manners like Silver does.

3.1. He cooks for them. He makes them their food and has all their tummy's full!
    2. He helps Trewlawney find a crew of good men.
    3. He also has a good attitude on the ship which I think bleeds onto the other members and makes the ship a better place.

    4. I don't think that he is exactly a bad guy because even though he is sly and he is making plans behind Captain Smollett's back and he doesn't seem very trustworthy and he' s very secretive, he seems as if he kind of cares about the ship and the members because of the way he talks to them.

    5. I think you can be good and bad at the same time but only to a certain extent. Long John Silver cooks for the members of the crew but it is for a selfish reason like so he can be on the ship. There is good and bad in that.

    6. I think he is dangerous because of his plans and the fact that he killed the two men very swiftly and carefully. I believe that that could cause problems for anyone who could make him angry.

    7. I think he could switch sides because he has kind of a bipolar personality. He is good then bad then good then bad. I think that because of this he will become good again and want to be a good person and not go through with his plans.

    8. I think he will be attacked by a wild animal at the end of the book because I don't think he will be able to go home, the island is very mysterious, and I don't think anyone has the heart to kill him.

  13. 1. Why don't Livesay, Trelawney, Smollet, or Jim suspect Silver of being a pirate at first?
Because he acts nice and looks happy as he moves as moves about the tables.
    2. How is Silver different from the other known pirates?
He acts nice at the beginning but then turns dark and mysterious later in the book.
    3. List 3 good things that Silver does for Jim or any of the other "good guys."
He gives Jim a gun, he is that cook and gives the crew food, and he agrees to go on the voyage.
    4. Do you think Silver is actually a bad guy? Give evidence?
Yes but I think that he is also good because he is really nice to most of the crew, but then he makes a crew member fall overboard.
    5. Is it possible to be good and bad at the same time? Explain your answer.
Yes because you can be considered "good" to some people, and "bad" to others.
    6. Do you think Silver is dangerous? Why?
Yes, he makes a dish with so much rum that it makes on of the crew members fall overboard into the water.
    7. Is there any evidence to suggest that Silver might switch sides later on in the book? Explain your answer?
Yes because he came along so that he could get the treasure and when Jim gets it, they will become an alliance again.
    8. What do you think will ultimately happen to Silver in the end?
I think that he will and start his own crew.

He's more refined and kind not like other pirates.

    3. List 3 good things that Silver does for Jim or any of the other "good guys." He has stopped mutiny many times, he has been a friend to Jim, and he cheers up the crew and does his duty cheerfully.

    4. Do you think Silver is actually a bad guy? Give evidence?
No he is such a good friend to Jim that I feel his true colors are shown went they are together.

    5. Is it possible to be good and bad at the same time? Explain your

No it's not. You can act one or the other while being the opposite but you can't be both. You only have one personality.

    6. Do you think Silver is dangerous? Why?
Yes he killed one man already he could do it again. Plus he has a temper.

    7. Is there any evidence to suggest that Silver might switch sides later on in the book? Explain your answer?
Yes, his want for peace with the good part of the crew is showing that he might be better than we think.

    8. What do you think will ultimately happen to Silver in the end?
I think he will get some of the treasure and then sail off and become a pirate again. But it's to early to tell.

    6. Do you think Silver is dangerous? Why? Yes. He killed some people he could try to kill Jim.

    7. Is there any evidence to suggest that Silver might switch sides later on in the book? Explain your answer? Maybe. He may just kept being bad. But I guess if he really does love Jim he could turn good.

    8. What do you think will ultimately happen to Silver in the end? I think he'll probably turn good.

  16. 1. Why don't Livesay, Trelawney, Smollet, or Jim suspect Silver of being a pirate at first?
I think the reason they don't suspect him is because how he gets along with the men. He laughs and can talk with them easily. Another thing is in the tavern when he saw black dog he seemed furious that a pirate was in his tavern. He told the man who was with black dog if he had ever met they man before he would never set foot in the tavern again.
    2. How is Silver different from the other known pirates?
He can hold his temper and wait. I'm sure the mutiny was just bubbling inside if him and he managed to stay calm and not give them a single hint. He's able to laugh smile and make friends to use in his deeds without a single hint given.
    3. List 3 good things that Silver does for Jim or any of the other "good guys."
Well first off he obviously cooks and feeds the crew and even though that is just so he can be in the crew it's a good thing. He helped the squire get a crew wand there were even some faithful hands aboard showing that he might be giving them a chance.
The last tho g he does is he keeps his crew in check. He watches them and makes sure they don't do anything stupid and protects the faithful hands from them unless they find out.
    4. Do you think Silver is actually a bad guy? Give evidence?
Yes and no of course he's bad after all he just killed a man but he has his moments like everything in the last question as well as how kind he is to everyone. At the same time we just saw him kill a guy and it hints that he killed Mr. Arrow as well.
    5. Is it possible to be good and bad at the same time? Explain your answer. Yes you could be doing goo with bad intentions or bad with good intentions. Also just because you are amazingly good doesn't mean you don't have that side who will do bad thing same going for good. Honestly it always comes down to spur of the moments decisions to help the person in front of you

    6. Do you think Silver is dangerous? Why?
Yes and no like I stated earlier we saw him kill a man however that might not mean he's dangerous to everyone. He's quite close to Jim and never has done anything to harm him or several other sailors.
    7. Is there any evidence to suggest that Silver might switch sides later on in the book? Explain your answer?
I think he might have moment where he makes decisions that will help the "good guys" but I don't think he will switch completely.
    8. What do you think will ultimately happen to Silver in the end?
I think he'll die I don't know why I just have this deep gut feeling that will happen.

Instead of taking what he wants by force, he has a whole plan to get it.

    3. List 3 good things that Silver does for Jim or any of the other "good guys." He gives Jim a gun, cooks, and helps find the island. He acts supportive and obedient.

    4. Do you think Silver is actually a bad guy? Give evidence? Yes, because, even though he did nice things, the reason for them was selfish and greed. He also lied and tricked them.

    5. Is it possible to be good and bad at the same time? Explain your answer.
Yes because you can be good to one person by being bad to another, Silver is being good to the pirate crew, but at the same time being horrible towards Jim and his friends.

    2. He's s lot nicer then all of them. He still has a bad side but can be a good person and a leader

  22. 1. Why don't Livesay, Trelawney, Smollet, or Jim suspect Silver of being a pirate at first?

Because at the start he seems like a nice guy, he helps them with many different things, and he is respectful and also obeying.

    2. How is Silver different from the other known pirates?

He is very good at deceiving people into believing things, and also infiltrating, this makes him a very hard pirate to take down. Also he is a very good and efficient leader, not only by intimidation, but also by encouragement.

    3. List 3 good things that Silver does for Jim or any of the other "good guys."

He found them a crew, he tried to catch Black Dog, and he found them a good place to go ashore on the island.

    4. Do you think Silver is actually a bad guy? Give evidence?

I think he is a good guy with bad motives, all he wants is for him and his crew to get the treasure that they feel is deserved to them, which means doing anything for his crew.

    5. Is it possible to be good and bad at the same time? Explain your answer.

I think so, because it is good that he does whatever he can to get himself and his trusted crew their treasure, but that also means hurting someone else in the process, but in his mind he is protecting himself and his crew.

    6. Do you think Silver is dangerous? Why?

I think so, because he is a pirate and had also already killed a few different people in the process of getting to the island.

    7. Is there any evidence to suggest that Silver might switch sides later on in the book? Explain your answer?

Some, he is very protective over Jim and getting him to trust him, so he might end up getting persuaded by Jim to do the right thing.

    8. What do you think will ultimately happen to Silver in the end?

He will probably meet his demise, with how many people are out gunning for him, it is very dangerous to be a man like him. And how easy it is to have your crew commit mutiny.
